New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) recently opened its doors to Discover New, an artfully curated retail experience, featuring luxury NZ brands in Australia’s premium shopping destination, Chadstone the Fashion Capital

Shoppers were able to  explore 18 top New Zealand brands across fashion, homewares, childrenswear and beauty including the likes of AO Skincare, Antipodes and Ashely & Co.

The event was held from May 6- 23.

Sara Quilter, founder at Tailor Skincare, said the Discover New pop up store was the brand’s first foray into the Australian market.

“We were humbled to be among so many incredible New Zealand brands and are excited about what the future holds in Australia,” she said.

“The store was a pivotal stepping stone into Australia for Tailor’s natural, cruelty free and eco conscious skincare range.”

James Rangihika, co-founder at Ao Skincare, said being invited to be part of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise’s Discover New initiative was a real honour.

“Projects like this one really put the spotlight on New Zealand and some of the incredible products and innovations that we create,” he said.

“Like the other brands featured, Ao offers best-in-class products on a world scale. Ao Skincare has been US-centric since inception, but Covid-19s made us re-think this. Now, with Australia and New Zealand working closer than ever, it’s a great time for us to focus on our roots.”

James said New Zealand offered some of the most distinctive and efficacious skincare ingredients known.  He said although people widely understood the benefits of Mānuka Honey, what they probably didn’t realise is that  ingredients like Astaxanthin provided antioxidant benefits up to 6000x stronger than Vitamin C, and Harakeke Seed Oil had moisturising properties that rivalled any other.
