Sensitive skin is a common issue but not a medical diagnosis by itself, according to Medical News Today.

In an article titled ‘Sensitive skin: Home remedies and prevention’ it reads that ‘a person with sensitive skin may be more prone to reactions to skincare products, makeup, or certain types of clothing’.

It states the symptoms of sensitive or reactive skin may appear in numerous ways including eczema, hives,  patches of redness or rashes that may itch, sting, or burn, itching, stinging or burning without a visible rash and sunburn.

Eau Thermale Avène, owned by  Pierre Fabre Group, recently launched a Tolerance Control range for hypersensitive skin.

Eau Thermale Avène is a dermatologist-recommended skincare range centred around the fabled Thermal Spring Water of Avène, in France.

Discovered in 1736, Avène Thermal Spring Water is soothing and softening, and rich in components particularly recommended for even the most sensitive skin.

To celebrate the launch, guests were invited to a Sensitive Skin Webinar, where Pierre Fabre Group in-house Head of Training, Janis McNicholas, and renowned dermatologist, Dr Corinne Maiolo, provided an in-depth insight into the best way to treat sensitive skin of all types, busting common skincare myths along the way.

Known as the experts in sensitive skin, Eau Thermale Avène announced the launch of three innovative new products during the webinar that are proven to quickly soothe and ultra-calm hypersensitive, intolerant and allergy-prone skin in 30 seconds*.

The Avène Tolerance Extremely Gentle Cleanser Lotion, Avène Tolerance Control Soothing Skin Recovery Cream and Avène Tolerance Control Soothing Skin Recovery Balm have been created with a patented postbiotic ingredient, D-Sensinose, which helps soothe and ultra-calm hypersensitive skin.

Suitable for children aged two years and older, and adults, the products have been formulated with minimal ingredients for better tolerance, with over 97 per cent  of ingredients in all products coming from natural origin.

Like all ranges from Eau Thermale Avène, the new Tolerance Control products are rich in Avène Thermal Spring Water.

Paraben free, fragrance free and non-comedogenic, the calming collection was produced with hypersensitive skin in mind and is available now from Chemist Warehouse and selected pharmacies.
