Kylie Minogue at the Lovers launch.

Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue has unveiled her latest fragrance collection, Lovers, with an intimate celebration hosted by Chemist Warehouse and Scent Beauty. The eau de parfum duo — Lovers Fleur and Lovers Noir — captures the light and shade of love in all its forms: romantic, platonic, and personal.

“Lovers is a celebration of love in all its forms — the thrill of connection, the comfort of knowing, and the magic in between,” Kylie told guests. “It’s intimate, playful, and deeply personal.”

From Pop Princess to Fragrance Creator

Few Australians have achieved the global influence of Kylie Minogue. Born and raised in Melbourne, Minogue first rose to fame in the late 1980s as Charlene Robinson on Neighbours before becoming one of the world’s most enduring pop icons. Frequently dubbed the Princess of Pop, her career spans music, film, fashion — and beauty.

With more than 80 million records sold worldwide, two Grammys, four Brit Awards, and eighteen ARIA Awards, Minogue remains the highest-selling Australian female artist of all time. In 2024, Time Magazine named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.

Nearly Two Decades of Fragrance Legacy

With nearly two decades in the fragrance industry, Minogue continues to expand her creative portfolio. She first entered the category in 2006 with Darling, a radiant floral scent created in partnership with Coty, marking the start of what would become a celebrated fragrance empire. Since then, her collection has grown to include over 15 perfumes and colognes — among them Sweet Darling, Sexy Darling, Couture, Pink Sparkle, Dazzling Darling, Music Box, and Disco Darling.

Minogue’s fragrances have been crafted alongside some of the world’s most esteemed perfumers — including Alexandra Kosinski, Thierry Wasser, Ilias Ermenidis, Rodrigo Flores-Roux, Vincent Schaller, and Sophie Labbe — reflecting her ongoing commitment to creativity and emotion through scent.

“Fragrance, for me, is storytelling,” she said. “It’s deeply emotional — like music. Both can take you somewhere instantly.”

Her enduring collaboration with Coty set the foundation for her transition into the modern fragrance landscape with Scent Beauty, where she continues to express her artistry through scent.

Love, Light and Shade

Developed in partnership with Master Perfumer Ilias Ermenidis, Lovers was designed to explore duality — the tension between tenderness and temptation.

Lovers Fleur is luminous and romantic, a creamy floral blend of coconut milk, honeysuckle, and tuberose layered over sandalwood, white musk, and amber woods.

“Fleur feels like sunlight and skin — soft, warm, comforting,” Kylie said. “It’s that kind of scent that makes you feel loved and seen.”

Lovers Noir, by contrast, is darkly magnetic. Notes of green apple, sage, and pink pepper are grounded by lavender, cacao absolute, cashmere woods, tonka bean, and patchouli.

“Noir is bolder — confident, mysterious,” Kylie explained. “It’s the one I reach for when I want to feel powerful.”

Ermenidis described Lovers as “a dual fragrance that can be worn apart or together — a reflection of love’s magnetic pull.”

“It’s Kylie’s ode to intimacy and connection,” he said. “She has an instinctive understanding of emotion — she approaches scent the way she approaches a song.”

A Creative Partnership Built on Trust

Speaking at the Sydney launch, Kylie shared her appreciation for her long-standing collaboration with Ermenidis.

“Whether it’s a perfumer, a brand, or a person, you can always tell when there’s a real connection behind a fragrance,” she said. “Ilias understands me — he knows the scents I love, the ones I don’t, and he brings my ideas to life beautifully.”

She also revealed that Lovers was designed for versatility — worn alone, layered, or even shared between two people.

“Love can be messy, magnetic, confident, and vulnerable,” she said. “These fragrances reflect that perfectly.”

Design with Meaning

Each bottle carries symbolism. The sculptural glass flacons — weighty, elegant, and tactile — feature interlocking caps that form an infinity symbol when placed together, representing the endless nature of love.

“Every detail matters,” Kylie said. “The bottles had to feel like love — something eternal and beautifully imperfect.”

The Lovers launch brought together media, industry leaders, and longtime fans to celebrate Minogue’s newest creative chapter. Guests were immersed in a multi-sensory experience — from lush floral installations inspired by Fleur to moody candlelight and deep, enveloping scents evoking Noir.

Kylie Minogue Lovers Fleur and Lovers Noir are available now exclusively in-store and online at Chemist Warehouse. RRP: 100ml EDP – $49.99, 30ml EDP – $29.99.
