As the skincare market continues to shift towards high-performance, multi-functional products, Lancôme, a subsidiary of L’Oréal, is leading the charge with the launch of its most advanced formula yet: Rénergie C.R.x Triple Serum Retinol. The global innovation, which combines retinol, vitamin C and X-peptide in a single precision-engineered system, was unveiled at an exclusive event in Sydney.
Held at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the VIP soirée brought together beauty insiders, media and influencers for a deep dive into the brand’s latest scientific breakthrough—designed to simplify routines without compromising on results.
The move to combine once-incompatible actives like vitamin C and retinol marks a significant milestone in formulation science. Traditionally avoided due to their differing pH levels and potential for irritation, the pairing is now made possible through next-gen delivery systems that preserve ingredient integrity until the moment of application.

“Each ingredient in this formula is protected in its own environment until the moment of application,” explained Dr Annie Black, Lancôme’s Global Scientific Director, who joined the event via live stream. “This allows us to pair ingredients like vitamin C and retinol—long considered incompatible—and deliver a transformative yet skin-friendly experience.”
According to Lancôme’s clinical data, users can expect a 24% reduction in forehead wrinkles, 12% reduction in nasolabial folds, and 24% improvement in visible pore size—in just three weeks.
For host Kate Waterhouse, the launch reflects a broader consumer desire for simplicity and performance. “Skincare is a non-negotiable part of my routine,” she told Retail Beauty. “I’ve been using the new Rénergie C.R.x Triple Serum Retinol and it’s honestly a game-changer. My skin feels smoother, more even, and just healthier overall.”
Waterhouse, a long-time Lancôme fan, said the product’s ability to combine three powerhouse actives—without irritation—was particularly relevant to her lifestyle. “As a woman in my 40s and a busy mum of two, I’ve come to appreciate that true luxury in skincare is about real results. This serum fits into my life and supports my skin journey—wherever I’m at in it.”

The event opened with Melanie Craig, Head of Brand for L’Oréal Luxe ANZ, acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land and recognising NAIDOC Week, before handing over to Tayla Baxter, Lancôme’s Community Manager for Comms, PR & Advocacy.
“This launch represents Lancôme’s continued commitment to cutting-edge, science-led beauty,” said Baxter. “It’s a product that merges heritage with innovation in a way only Lancôme can.”

A panel discussion with Lancôme Skin Expert Brittany Hanchard, creator Gemma Diamond, and dermatologist Dr Shreya Andric further explored the shift towards pro-ageing—a message that resonated strongly throughout the night.
“For me, pro-ageing is about embracing your skin at every stage,” said Hanchard. “This serum is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin, while still delivering powerful, visible improvements.”
Waterhouse echoed the sentiment: “Pro-ageing is about embracing and celebrating every stage of life. It’s not about trying to look younger—it’s about feeling your best, taking care of yourself, and appreciating the journey. I want to age with confidence and grace, and skincare is part of that.”
She added that her approach to beauty has become more intentional over time: “In my twenties, it was about experimenting. Now, I look for products backed by science, with active ingredients that deliver. And I’ve come to appreciate the ritual of skincare—it’s a moment to reset and do something kind for yourself.”

The Rénergie C.R.x Triple Serum Retinol also joins a strong roster of Lancôme icons, including Advanced Génifique, which Waterhouse says is her go-to: “It’s a forever favourite. It gives me that glow, smoothness, and hydration—especially when I’m travelling or in between shoots and events.”
The night concluded with Waterhouse summing up the energy in the room: “It’s not just a serum—it’s a celebration of skin, science, and self-care.”
