Last Friday, May 23, industry charity Look Good Feel Better marked a significant milestone – its 35th anniversary – by welcoming 450 guests to the annual Dream Ball, held at the Noble Dining Room in the Sydney Cricket Ground.
With outstanding support from attendees and the wider community, the evening raised more than $360,000, surpassing last year’s total. These vital funds will enable over 3,600 women, men, and young adults undergoing cancer treatment across Australia to access the charity’s empowering program over the next year.

During the evening, Look Good Feel Better General Manager Carol Kavurma addressed the guests with heartfelt appreciation, saying,
“The cosmetic industry, our retail partners and our wider community have supported Look Good Feel Better for 35 years by providing the funds, volunteers and products for our Confidence Kits, for which we are extremely grateful – as are our program participants. Our program receives no government funding, so without that level of commitment and support from all of you, we simply wouldn’t be here.
“Our support is available to any woman, man, teen, or young adult who is diagnosed with any type of cancer, receiving any type of treatment. Our help is available in every state and territory across the country. And our help is free. All thanks to you.”

The evening was hosted by the charity’s Patron, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, who served as Master of Ceremonies. Guests of honour included program founder Julie Carriol and Ambassadors Eleanor Pendleton, Leigh Campbell, and Ruchi Page, whose presence underscored the significance of the occasion.
Rosi Fernandez, Chair of the Cancer Patients Foundation Board, also took to the stage to reflect on the collective achievements and future needs of the charity.
“I have served as Chair of the Cancer Patients Foundation Board for four years and I’m grateful for the honour and privilege to contribute my time and energy to this important cause. I feel a huge sense of pride in our industry and the hard work we all put into our charity. We choose to set aside our market competitiveness for this cause. We unite as a collective; giving products, people-power, energy, focus and funds, to ensure those undergoing cancer treatment across the country can feel their best and reclaim their sense of self and dignity through our national Look Good Feel Better program.
“Beyond Dream Ball, we need the industry to keep Look Good Feel Better top of mind and as individuals there are also many ways you can continue to support Look Good Feel Better; whether that’s by donating your time and skills to our program as volunteers or supporting any of our fundraising initiatives throughout the year. In the coming months, you can take part in Dry July or Christmas in July, you can sign up for City2Surf, you can become part of our Confidence Collective – our regular giving initiative – or you can join us for Leigh’s Charity Mixer.
“When each of us makes a contribution, no matter how big or small, a significant impact can be made.”
Since its inception in 1990, Look Good Feel Better has supported nearly 200,000 Australians through cancer diagnosis and treatment. It’s the only charity uniting the cosmetic and fragrance industries and their partners to help empower Australians to face cancer with confidence.
