The beauty industry continues to prove its cultural and commercial clout, with four standout companies named in the prestigious TIME100 Most Influential Companies of 2025 list. From biotech breakthroughs to billion-dollar acquisitions, these brands are shaping not only the future of beauty but also the direction of global innovation, sustainability and consumer connection.

L’Oréal Groupe

Recognised in TIME’s “Titans” category, L’Oréal Groupe continues to lead the global beauty landscape with its commitment to research-led innovation. The group’s dermatological brand CeraVe was singled out as a standout performer, having surpassed $2 billion in global sales, reinforcing L’Oréal’s strategy of combining scientific rigour with mass accessibility.

With a robust portfolio of brands spanning luxury, dermocosmetics, and mass-market, L’Oréal’s recent accolades reflect its ability to scale innovation while maintaining consumer trust. TIME praised the company for “[making skincare science cool]” and accessible, underlining its position as the world’s most valuable beauty company.

e.l.f. Beauty

Making waves in the “Disrupters” category, e.l.f. Beauty has been recognised for its nimble, trend-responsive model and impressive commercial success. The brand’s $1 billion acquisition of Rhode, Hailey Bieber’s viral skincare line, cemented e.l.f.’s place at the forefront of Gen Z and Millennial beauty culture.

Known for delivering high-performance products at accessible price points, e.l.f. continues to redefine what it means to be a modern beauty brand. TIME commended e.l.f. for “scaling cool,” and for mastering digital engagement in a highly competitive market.

Debut

Biotech meets beauty in Debut, a California-based company named in the “Innovators” category for its use of synthetic biology, AI and sustainable production techniques. The company is reshaping how ingredients are developed, manufactured and delivered — with zero compromise on performance.

As the first biotech beauty brand to ever feature on TIME’s list, Debut is ushering in a future where sustainability and efficacy co-exist. Its platform allows for rapid formulation of rare or unstable ingredients, removing reliance on traditional agricultural or petrochemical methods.

Touchland

Also featured on the TIME100 is Touchland, the brand behind the viral power mist hand sanitiser that made personal hygiene chic. With aesthetic appeal and a strong social media presence, Touchland was credited for turning a functional product into a $700 million category leader, leading to its recent acquisition by Church & Dwight.
