Thompson’s Herbals recently hosted an immersive celebration for World Herb Day 2025 at the Calyx in Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens, in partnership with pharmacy retailer Chemist Warehouse. The event brought together key media and creator guests to spotlight the power of herbs and the brand’s trusted natural health offerings.

Hosted by former Australian netballer and wellness advocate Liz Ellis, the morning featured a presentation from Thompson’s Head of Marketing Andrea Cheung on the benefits of herbal medicine, a farm-to-table brunch, and a hands-on herb kit-making session led by renowned horticulturist Jamie Durie. Guests also explored Thompson’s One-A-Day hero range, stocked exclusively at Chemist Warehouse.

The event comes as Thompson’s embarks on a new chapter of expansion under Homart Group. In June 2024, Sydney-based Homart announced the acquisition of the 74-year-old brand from Integria Healthcare, alongside the upcoming purchase of fellow Australian natural brand Thursday Plantation. The move aligns with Homart’s strategy to broaden its footprint in the health and wellness sector and accelerate growth through innovation and international expansion.

Founded in New Zealand in 1951 by English herbalist Mark Barrington Thompson, the Thompson’s brand was born out of a deep understanding of herbal medicine. Thompson opened one of the country’s first health stores and later transformed part of the building into a lecture hall to educate the public on natural remedies. Today, Thompson’s remains a master formulator of herbal medicine, dedicated to delivering high-quality, scientifically supported products.

With a presence in Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and China, Thompson’s continues to build on its heritage, backed by Homart’s vision to drive product development and global growth.
