Research from Mintel shows 73 per cent of consumers in the US agree the beauty industry plays on women’s insecurities, while 63 per cent are inspired by beauty brands that show diversity in advertising.
Through Holme Beauty, founder Hilary Holmes is encouraging women (and men) to embrace their own unique features and enhance them as best they can.
“I want to change the way the beauty industry impacts people’s belief systems. I want them to take back the control on who decides on how they feel about themselves, on how they view themselves,” she said.
“For too long we have been told we are not good enough well I am here to tell you all that the only person who can tell you that is you. And when you truly come home to yourself you know that you are absolutely good enough. In fact, you’re perfect.”
In 2016, the professional makeup artist opened the very first Hilary Holmes studio in Geelong, launching the Hilary Holmes South Melbourne HQ three years later. It was here that she began her eponymous Masterclass Program.
In 2021, she created Holme Beauty, a performance beauty brand, with each ingredient carefully considered and selected for its appearance on the skin and its effect on the health of the skin.
The latest product to launch in the range is the Holme Beauty Highlighter in shades Flux, a subtle gold, and Flame, a bronze pigment.
Deeply aware of the transformative effect highlighter has on both the appearance and the mindset of its wearer, Hilary said she spent 18 months perfecting the formula of the brand’s newest launch.
The Holme Beauty Highlighters are the continuation of Hilary’s mission to create a range of multi-use beauty products formulated to be used exactly the way you wish to wear them.
“Holme Beauty isn’t about colouring within the lines,” Hilary said.
The shades can be worn together or separately to create a customisable glow for every occasion and are vegan and cruelty-free, as well as sulfate and fragrance free.
