Founded in 1978 by Lydia Jordane, a renowned beauty therapist, Lycon Cosmetics Australia has established itself as a well-known and sought-after local waxing brand, gaining global recognition in over 90 countries.

Those familiar with the beauty industry will recall Lydia’s eponymous skincare line – the Lydia Jordane Skincare brand was introduced in 1998 and remained in the market until 2013.

Even a decade after its discontinuation, the Lycon team continues to receive inquiries from loyal customers seeking the beloved brand, Lydia said.

The enduring interest and demand from past customers is what prompted Lydia to launch Lycon Skin in 2021.

The brand has now taken its skincare range to new heights with the launch of nine innovative luxury products.

Lycon Skin is designed for all skin types and ages, boasting a unique blend of ‘superhero’ ingredients such as Yeast-Beta Glucan, combined with ‘Adaptive Skin Science’ technology, explained Lydia at the Sydney launch event.

“Lycon Skin is my dream come true for products that are easy to use, suitable for all skin types and age groups, and can achieve obvious results from the first use,” she said. “Each product can adapt and respond to multiple skin concerns simultaneously, catering to the individual nuances of the skin.”

Lydia explained that at the heart of the Lycon Skin range lies the superhero ingredient, Yeast-Beta Glucan, with universal benefits for all skin types.

“It effectively combats signs of ageing while counteracting the effects of previous damage and chronological ageing, leaving the skin revitalised and rejuvenated,” she said.

In a significant step for the company, while Lycon is primarily a professional-only brand, Lycon Skin is transitioning to a retail brand. This will allow the brand to reach a wider audience and tap into the consumer market, potentially increasing sales and brand visibility.

Part of Lycon Skin’s retail expansion plans including the new packaging, marketing strategies, and formulations were revealed over lunch by Lydia and Lycon formulator Adam Powell.
