2020 Spring-Summer Ready-to-Wear Show makeup inspirations by Lucia Pica – Global Creative Makeup & Colour Designer, Chanel.
What were your sources of inspiration for this makeup? What brief did Virginie Viard (Karl Lagerfeld’s successor as Chanel Designer) give you?
The vibe of the show is the Nouvelle Vague. The girls are walking on the roof top of Paris. Virginie wanted the girls to look super fresh. It’s really about the luminosity and transparency of the skin with a little color on the lips. I tried to exaggerate all these features with the makeup.
Can you describe the fashion show makeup?
To create the exaggeration of the naturality of the skin, I added the new bronzy Baume Essentiel in Golden Light* across the bridge of the nose and the cheekbones. I added freckles too! All this created the illusion of a sun kissed look.
On the eyelids, I used a liquid eyeshadow coming out in Spring, Ombre Première Laque in Quartz Rose*. I concentrated it in the center of the eyelids and then I used Baume Essentiel in Transparent on the top of it.
On the lips I used Rouge Allure Liquid Powder in Radical, an orangy-red which I applied in the middle of them and I gradually blended it out. On top of it, I added Rouge Coco Gloss in Crystal Clear** for a transparent sparkling result.
Do you have any professional tips and tricks to share with us?
What I tried to do is to replicate the feeling of a girl who has just eaten a strawberry. So, I put Rouge Allure Liquid Powder in Radical, right in the middle of the lips and blending out into nothing to the edges of the lips and to accentuate that a little bit more, I put concealer on the outer edges of the mouth. It’s like the color is bleeding out to the outer edges of the mouth.
Is there a product that you particularly enjoyed using for this makeup look?
I loved using the bronze balm Baume Essentiel in Golden Light!
