The Clean + Conscious Awards, founded in 2019 by Emily Fletcher, are now in their sixth year. Emily, a practicing optometrist of 15 years, mother of two, and holder of postgraduate qualifications in Pharmacology and Advanced Chemistry, established these awards to celebrate safe and socially responsible products. Over eight years ago, Emily began documenting her journey to find truly healthy, non-toxic products for her home and family. Her ability to read scientific research papers, explain her findings clearly, and provide an independent voice without brand association has made her a well-respected authority in the clean and conscious world.

Each year, the Awards set a gold standard, showcasing brands and small businesses that prioritise clean and conscious practices. This positive influence is evident as larger brands take note and consumers become increasingly vigilant about product ingredients, origins, and ethical practices, calling out greenwashing and demanding transparency.

This year, I am honoured to join the 2024 Expert Panel for the Beauty/Skincare category as a judge for the Awards. Being involved as a judge has been an incredibly rewarding experience, allowing me to witness firsthand the dedication and innovation of brands committed to ethical practices. Winners will be announced in the coming month, marking an exciting milestone for all involved.

In addition to skincare, brands can enter various categories including makeup, body, baby, kids, haircare, home, food and nutrition, fashion and fitness, and zero waste. This wide range of categories highlights the Awards’ commitment to promoting clean and conscious living across all aspects of daily life.
