The anti-acne cosmetics market size for the creams and lotions segment reached US$2.8 billion in 2023 and is projected to surpass US$4.5 billion by 2032. This growth is driven by consumer demand for lightweight, non-greasy formulations that moisturise without aggravating acne, acocording to Global Market Insights.

To celebrate Acne Awareness Month, professional-grade skincare brand Dermalogica hosted a high school-themed event to introduce its new Clear Start line. The event, designed to engage and educate, featured a ‘High School’ Class Schedule including sessions such as Biology, Skin Coach, Lunch, Detention, and Graduation. This creative approach centered around Dermalogica’s Clear Start skincare line, which is now available at Priceline stores across Australia.

Clear Start is a skincare line specifically designed for teen skin, combining potent active ingredients with soothing botanicals to tackle the unique challenges faced by young people. The new line offers effective solutions for acne, oiliness, and uneven texture, aiming to not only address breakouts and oil control but also promote overall skin health.

The Clear Start range features a variety of products, each targeting common skin issues faced by teenagers. Among these are a powerful yet gentle cleanser that removes dirt, excess oil, and impurities to prevent future breakouts; a fizzing mask that helps clear blackheads and brighten skin; a fast-acting treatment that targets active breakouts, reducing their size and redness in 15 minutes; and a specially formulated spray to combat breakouts on the body, targeting areas prone to congestion and acne.

During the themed event, attendees received valuable skincare education from experts. Georgia McCracken led a Biology class, highlighting factors that cause oily skin, such as lifestyle and diet, genetics, skin type, environmental pollution, over-cleansing and harsh products, hormones and stress, and skipping moisturiser. Pharmacist Justin Withers spoke about the importance of seeking pharmacy advice when selecting effective skincare products. Katelyn Boer, hosting the Detention session, demonstrated safe blackhead extraction techniques and explained the differences among the five types of breakouts and the most suitable procedures to treat them.

True to Dermalogica’s commitment to clean skincare, Clear Start products are free from artificial fragrances, colours, and parabens. Each formula is also cruelty-free and vegan.
