The grand re-opening of Chemist Warehouse in Campbelltown marks a significant milestone for health and beauty enthusiasts in the area.

This expansive 2000-square-metre store is not just a retail space – it’s a place where the community can access a diverse range of health and wellness solutions and is the largest Chemist Warehouse store in the world.

One standout feature of the store is the inclusion of Ultra Beauty, a section that offers high-end designer brands not typically found in traditional pharmacies. This addition reflects Chemist Warehouse’s mission to create a comfortable shopping experience for all, ensuring that shoppers can find both everyday essentials and luxury items all under one roof.

Customers can also access professional optometry services in the store. This synergy allows patrons to address their health and wellness needs comprehensively, making it a one-stop shop for all things related to well-being.

According to owner and pharmacist Tony Bassaly, the vision behind this venture was to transform the massive space into a thriving hub that caters to the diverse needs of the community.

Tony also serves as Managing Partner at Chemist Warehouse and has ownership/partnership stakes in five pharmacies located in Sydney  – Chemist Warehouses in Campbelltown, Fairfield, Liverpool, Castle Hill, and My Chemist Castle Towers.

Speaking exclusively with Retail Beauty, Tony revealed that after 15 years of meticulous planning and execution, the team behind the Campbelltown project aimed to transcend traditional retail by providing a holistic shopping experience. He described the store as the “Disneyland of wellness.”

“What makes Chemist Warehouse Campbelltown truly unique is its integration of various services,” Tony emphasised.

 “It’s the first time that Chemist Warehouse, Ultra Beauty, and Optometrist Warehouse have ever coexisted under one roof in a mega-store style. The beauty section is staffed with makeup artists who can assist customers in finding the perfect beauty products. We also have optometry services combined with the traditional Chemist Warehouse offerings, creating a one-stop-shop for wellness and beauty products. Our focus is on providing customers with an elevated experience, including access to professional brands and makeup services.”

Chemist Warehouse was founded in 2000 by pharmacist Jack Gance and his brother Sam in partnership with businessman Mario Verrocchi. Today, it holds the title of Australia’s largest pharmacy franchise retailer, with a network of more than 350 stores and over 8,000 staff members.
