Before COVID-19 hit, devastating bushfires swept through Australia, destroying land, wildlife and livelihoods.
One of those badly areas affected was Cudlee Creek, just 38km from the Jurlique farm, and was declared an emergency disaster area and still needs help to recover.
As part of Jurlique’s ongoing sustainability efforts, and to mark National Tree Day on August 2, 2020, for every bottle* of Jurlique Activating Water Essence sold in August, they will nurture a tree seedling on their farm and plant it at Cudlee Creek in 2021 to help rejuvenate the affected area.
Jurlique have partnered with Trees For Life, a South Australian based not-for-profit community organisation that helps restore natural environments through revegetation programs, for this initiative.
Vicki-Jo Russell, area manager for revegetation services, Trees For Life, said: “It’s wonderful to work with Jurlique to help their local fire-affected community. The native seedlings Jurlique will grow and plant in partnership with Trees For Life will provide vital homes and food for wildlife and other benefits in a landscape that will take many years and lots of hard work and goodwill to recover.”
Customers who support the tree planting initiative will be able to follow the seedlings progress virtually at the three and six month growing phase via Jurlique’s social channels.
When the seedlings are ready to be replanted at Cudlee Creek in 2021, Jurlique will invite local staff, community members and media to participate.
