Swisse launched its first skincare range in 2012. Over the past nine years, Australia’s number one vitamins and supplements brand has regularly updated and promoted its skincare business with targeted campaigns, including Discover Real Beauty Inside & Out fronted by model and yoga guru, Ashley Hart.
Early last year, Swisse released the Healthy Beautiful range, a six pillar, benefits-focused lineup of new products, packaging and formulas – Glow, Balance, Renew, Nourish, Bright and Restore. In a first for the global player, the Restore pillar featured nine hemp-based products led by Hempseed Facial Oil and Replenishing Cream Moisturiser.
To reinforce its commitment to skincare as a core focus, Lara Worthington has been appointed as the new ambassador for Swisse Beauty. The popular entrepreneur, model and mother of three will double down on the company’s long-held inside and out beauty theme. An approach few other companies are better qualified to take advantage of from face oils to collagen powders.
I take an holistic approach to beauty and wellness and believe looking after your skin should be simple, says Worthington. “Swisse designs its beauty and skincare ranges with specific needs and benefits in mind to support healthy skin, making the range extremely accessible and easy to use. My favourite products are from the Swisse Beauty Renew range that is tailored to achieving a radiant complexion, and when I need ultra-hydrated, dewy skin I use the Swisse Beauty Glow range.”
Lara is synonymous with wellness and beauty products, which makes her a perfect partner for Swisse, says Nick Mann, CEO of Swisse. “As the Swisse Beauty skincare and supplement range continues to grow and we see consumers become more aware and interested in the premium ingredients and effectiveness of products, we are excited to have Lara on board to authentically communicate our beauty in and out offering.”
The reduction in daigou activity and nationwide lockdowns have dented the performance of Swisse in Australia and New Zealand during the Covid-19 pandemic. But growth in China has continued and Swisse was ranked number one across major e-commerce platforms in China during the 618 shopping festival in June last year, achieving a market share of 5.8 per cent. Swisse also delivered 27.6 per cent growth in China in its calendar year 2020.
