Nivea has launched a fundraising campaign to support its long-standing partner, the cancer support charity Look Good Feel Better (LGFB). This global not-for-profit initiative, run by The Cancer Patients Foundation in Australia, provides non-medical support to cancer patients, covering topics from skincare to fitness and mental wellbeing.
From 1 May to 30 July, Nivea, owned by the Hamburg-based company Beiersdorf, will donate 10 cents from every product sold at key Australian retailers directly to LGFB. With a target of raising $150,000, the funds will support LGFB’s workshops and Confidence Kits, which are essential components of their service. These workshops are designed to empower cancer patients by providing them with skills and products to enhance their confidence during treatment. Topics covered include skincare advice, makeup tips, scarf styling, wig selection and care, fitness, mobility, and mental wellbeing, all delivered by volunteer experts. Participants also receive complimentary Confidence Kits, filled with cosmetic and skincare products sponsored by community and corporate partners like Nivea.
Clynton Bartholomeusz, Managing Director of Beiersdorf Australia and New Zealand, stated, “As a skincare brand built on the ethos of ‘CARE BEYOND SKIN,’ we have a responsibility to positively impact the communities we operate in. This very much informs the charities we work with, and Look Good Feel Better’s commitment to empowering cancer patients through self-care resonates strongly with us.
“Nivea has supported Look Good Feel Better for over two decades, providing products for their Confidence Kits, and many of our team members have volunteered their time to run workshops. This year, our goal is to utilise Nivea’s brand platform and nationwide presence in stores to raise $150,000, which will fund over 150 workshops for 1,500 cancer patients. We hope fellow Aussies can join us in this meaningful campaign and support the charity in any way they can.”
Carol Kavurma, General Manager of Look Good Feel Better, said, “In the past 34 years of operation in Australia, we have supported over 180,000 cancer patients during what is often the most overwhelming time in their lives. Longstanding partners like Nivea, who lead with compassion and continuously support and amplify our mission, are integral in helping us consistently provide our services to those who need us.
“We are confident Nivea’s loyal consumer base will help us reach the fundraising target and hope the campaign also shines a light on the important and empowering work that the Look Good Feel Better team, our volunteers, and our fundraisers are doing.”
