The global scalp care products market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 6.5%, reaching US$115.98 billion by 2028, according to Adroit Market Research. Key factors driving this growth include improved geographical research, the introduction of innovative products, consumer and clinical studies, and rising awareness about the benefits of hair care products.
SheaMoisture, distributed by Chemcorp International in Australia, recently announced the launch of its innovative Aloe Butter Scalp Care System over breakfast at Promenade, Bondi, hosted by Deauvanné Jarvis.
Owned by Unilever, SheaMoisture is a brand founded on the legacy of Sofi Tucker, a pioneering mother and entrepreneur from Sierra Leone, who began selling Shea Butter, African Black Soap, and homemade beauty products in 1912. The brand continues to honour her vision by using Shea Butter handcrafted by women in Africa.
Trichologist Chelcey Salinger spoke at the event and emphasised that “a healthy scalp is the foundation for beautiful hair.”
“It’s essential to address common scalp issues like dryness, flaking, and inflammation to promote hair growth and overall hair health,” she said. Salinger emphasised the importance of a holistic approach to scalp care, stating, “Frequent hair washing, turning down the heat on styling tools, and using products with antioxidants can significantly reduce scalp problems and hair damage. Look for products with antioxidants, like Vitamin B3, which helps reduce inflammation and protects the skin barrier.”
The Aloe Butter Scalp Care System includes four key products designed to boost hydration and nourishment for both the scalp and hair. The Aloe Butter Scalp Moisture Shampoo is sulphate-free and infused with Aloe Butter and Vitamin B3. It gently cleanses the hair and scalp to remove buildup without stripping essential moisture. The Aloe Butter Scalp Moisture Conditioner helps to give visibly healthier hair and a hydrated scalp, providing extra nourishment.
For targeted nourishment, the Aloe Butter Scalp Moisture Cream offers intense hydration for a dry scalp and strengthens hair. Additionally, the Aloe Butter Scalp Moisture Pre-Wash Masque is a pre-wash deep conditioning masque that restores hydration and nourishes hair before shampooing.
Salinger continued to highlight the critical role of scalp care in overall hair health. “Our scalp houses the follicles, where the DNA for our hair resides. A healthy, moisturised scalp is less likely to experience discomfort and itchiness, contributing to healthier hair growth.”
Milly Ofori from Zemura Salon then demonstrated how to give a scalp massage at home.
The SheaMoisture Aloe Butter Scalp Care System is available now at Priceline and online at sheamoisture.com.au.
