Australia Post has opened a $12 million Parcel Facility on the Gold Coast to handle increased parcel growth. The 15,087m2 facility can process up to 6,000 parcels per hour and 90,000 during peak periods like Christmas.

Unveiled by Minister for Communications Michelle Rowland MP and Australia Post Executive General Manager Network Operations Rod Barnes, the facility integrates advanced sortation technology and various Australia Post services, including Express Post and the new Australia Post Metro next-day delivery.

Achieving a 5-star Green Star rating, it features a solar system powering 30% of its load to reduce carbon emissions. This investment reflects Australia Post’s commitment to improving services, with parcel volumes on the Gold Coast increasing by 97% since 2019. The facility supports over 300 team members, with recruitment for peak periods beginning soon.
