QIC Real Estate has unveiled Job Connect+, a first-of-its-kind online recruitment platform for the Australian shopping centre industry, just in time for the busy Christmas hiring season. The platform connects jobseekers with employment opportunities at their local QIC shopping centres, offering a streamlined solution for retailers and hospitality businesses seeking staff during the seasonal rush.
Accessible through the websites of 17 QIC shopping centres, including major destinations like Robina Town Centre, Castle Towers, and Eastland, Job Connect+ allows businesses to advertise full-time, part-time, and casual roles across a wide range of industries. At launch, over 270 job openings have been listed, including positions with top beauty retailers such as Browco, Chemist Warehouse, Essential Beauty, Hairhouse, Just Cuts, Laser Clinics Australia, Oz Hair and Beauty, Palermo Perfumes, and The Body Shop.
The platform also includes a permanent ‘expressions of interest’ feature, enabling jobseekers to connect with potential employers even when no specific vacancies are listed. This functionality allows for continuous engagement, beyond the traditional pre-Christmas hiring period.
Retailers have praised the new platform for offering year-round access to a pool of candidates. Stephen Dewaele, QIC’s General Manager of Shopping Centre Management, commented: “With over 1.3 million Australians employed in the retail sector, QIC centres are uniquely positioned to support the economic vitality of our communities. By transitioning from our annual jobs fairs to a digital marketplace, we’re providing a constant link between jobseekers and employers, ensuring that the retail workforce remains strong, adaptable, and connected.”
