To grab a spot in the coveted goody bags handed out to presenters, performers and nominees at the Oscars immediately puts a brand in the global spotlight. Last year’s major goody bag at the Academy Awards was worth US$140,000 and included everything from the sublime – a three-day stay at a Scottish castle – to the practical – a hair detangling brush.

Issada, the Australian mineral and vegan makeup and clinical skincare brand has been selected for the nominees gift bag to be handed out prior to the movie industry’s night of nights on March 13th.

Founded as a boutique makeup brand in 2006, Issada debuted a clean cosmeceutical skincare range, Issada Clinical Formula, in 2020. The range features 24 products containing top-performing actives such as peptides, AHAs, BHAs, probiotics and plant extracts to target pigmentation,  sun damage, acne, ageing and dehydration.

Deb Farnworth-Wood, the owner of Issada since 2020, needs no introduction to the Australian beauty industry. A serial entrepreneur, she founded Australian Skin Clinics in 2007 and built the business from one to 60 clinics across Australian and New Zealand, before selling it to SILK Laser Australia.

The Oscars goody bags will not only introduce Issada to a global audience through TV and social media, the initiative is set to springboard the brand into the lucrative US market – the largest single beauty market in the world.

Issada moved to a larger warehouse and manufacturing facility in Helensvale near the Gold Coast in 2021 to keep up with demand and fast-track growth.

Our goal in 2023 will be supercharged with our brand’s inclusion in the world’s largest celebration of the Silver Screen, notes Farnworth-Wood.

The brand is available nationwide in spas, salons and clinics and its two Issada boutiques in Queensland are Australia’s first and only standalone mineral makeup stores.
