The teeth whitening market was valued at $8226.88 (US$6,140.75)  million in 2021, and it is estimated to register a CAGR of 4.95% during the forecast period (2022-2027), according to Research and Markets.

According to the report Teeth Whitening Market – Growth, Trends, COVID-19 Impact, and Forecasts (2022 – 2027), the major factors responsible for the growth of the teeth whitening market include the rising awareness about oral hygiene, easy availability of teeth whitening OTC products, and stigma associated with discoloration of teeth.

Toothpaste consumption is expected to increase, with more consumers looking for an advanced and targeted solution for dental care, with the whitening toothpaste segment expected to account for the largest market share over the forecast period.

Australian oral care brand, White Glo, recently celebrated its re-launch with new toothpastes, toothpaste tablets, mouthwash, and at-home teeth whitening devices, developed after seven years of research and development with dentists.

The brand, available in most major supermarket chains, has been a leader in the teeth whitening category for more than 25 years, since being established in 1995.

Cosmetic dentist, Dr Aodhan Docherty, said – “I am thrilled to be a part of White Glo’s relaunch because the brand has worked closely with dentists to develop their new range, and they have really listened to what consumers are looking for in their teeth whitening products.

“White Glo understands that looking after your teeth and keeping them white and healthy is an important part of taking care of yourself. This range is something I am proud to recommend, as each product has been specially formulated by dentists like myself to ensure your at-home teeth whitening is effective, safe, and reflects your self-care priorities.”

The recyclable packaging has been  designed with colour-coded panels. The range includes Professional White, Charcoal Deep Stain Remover, Tartar Control, Gum Health, Enamel Care, and Ultra Fresh gel mouthwash, available in 115g or 205g sizes.

White Glo also offers Bite & Brush Toothpaste Tablets, which are vegan, packaged without plastic, and formulated without SLS.

By 2024, the brand  hopes to have created a biodegradable toothpaste tube and packaging range and has partnered with CleanHub to help recover the equivalent plastic waste in oceans for the new range.
