Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne is not only the biggest shopping centre in Australia, the 530-store retail spread is also the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.

With annual sales of $1.4 billion, Chaddy, as it is popularly called, bills itself as The Fashion Capital.

Late last year, a 250-room luxury hotel opened its doors and Chadstone is also a major health and beauty destination.

Key tenants include Aesop, Sephora, Mecca and Mecca Maxima, Chanel Beaute, Dior Perfume and Beauty, Endota Spa, Innisfree, Jurlique, Kiehl’s, L’Occitane, The Body Shop, Chemist Warehouse and Priceline.

The City of Stonnington council has given the green light to a $685 million expansion of Chadstone to begin next year.

To be completed in four years, additions include 1400 more parking spaces, a new nine-storey commercial building, expansion of the dining and leisure precinct and an increased focus on wellness and lifestyle retailers and businesses.
