Myer shut its doors due to COVID-19, but is set to re-open all stores.

Myer has the largest department store footprint and is the dominant player in the prestige beauty market.

Myer One is one of the most popular loyalty programs in Australia with more than 5 million members and 75 per cent are women.

The department store chain also has very profitable Mecca concessions in key doors.

The retailer shuttered its 60 bricks-and-mortar stores on March 29.

Close to 10,000 employees were stood down, but 20 per cent returned to assist with a surge in Myer’s online business.

A click-and-collect service was launched at select stores prior to Mother’s Day.

On May 9, Myer re-opened seven stores in NSW and Queensland, extending the trial to another eight stores in NSW, South Australia and WA in mid-May.

The remaining stores – bar one – of Myer’s national network will re-open on Wednesday, May 27.

The remaining store in Karrinyup in Perth is undergoing a renovation and will re-open on May 30.

New safety measures such as hand sanitisers, contactless payments, social distancing and more will be introduced.

Beauty services, intimate apparel, suit and footwear fittings will be suspended until further notice.
