The whole-new Napoleon Perdis Cosmetics company hosted media at an exclusive lunch to bring them up to speed on the new ownership and direction for the brand.
The event, The Miracle Workers, was hosted by the company’s new brand owner, CEO Henry Lee.
Miracle Workers event was created as a celebration of the importance of foundation to the Napoleon Perdis brand, accounting for around 50% of its total business today.
With brick-and-mortar sales of Napoleon Perdis Cosmetics’ whole range accounting for 75% of the business that’s a huge amount of foundations being bought in the try-before-you-buy, tester and consultation environment of stores and salons.
At the intimate lunch, held at The Apollo in Potts Point, Henry spoke about the near collapse of the brand last year and how the financial and operational issues faced by the company were now being rectified.
He said now it was time to reinvigorate the brand and remind the world just how great the products were.
Everyone who attended the lunch got to be shade matched for the perfect foundation colour by celebrity makeup artist Nathan Kake.
Nathan also shared his top tips on getting that perfect match, which we’ve shared below:
“In recommending the best foundation products to my clients I always do a quick ‘Pro Scan’
- What skin type is she
- What foundation finish does she love (matte, dewy, satin)
- What foundation coverage does she prefer (light, medium, full)
“Following on from this, the most important step… and one that is often overlooked… is to place my client in the correct lighting. This ensures that the foundation colour, type and application are absolutely perfect.
“Another tip is foundation application tools. The lighter the texture use a softer the brush or apply with your fingers. If you are using more of a full coverage you want to apply with a buffing brush. This is fabulous, application glides on super-fast with a streak free finish.
“My friends and clients now have a foundation wardrobe. One foundation for weekends light and fresh (the no makeup look) One foundation for work (long wearing simple to apply) and one foundation (full cover glam) for nights out and special events!”
