Janet Hayward has been a lifelong fan of natural and organic skincare. Following 25 years working in beauty media and co-founding the website beautydirectory.com.au, she launched Ipsum Skin in 2019 and has been kicking major goals ever since.
With the global spotlight on A-Beauty, Ipsum has launched the first product in its spa retail range – Ipsum SPA Body Balm Vetiver Citrus. An intense body conditioning product incorporating vitamins, antioxidants and botanical oils and supercharged with Australian native botanicals including Davidson plum, like all Ipsum products the new balm is COSMOS-certified – the international gold standard of organic certification which assures the entire production process from planting seeds through to harvest, extraction and packaging, has zero impact on animals, the environment and humans.
Two years ago, Ipsum’s Lip Oil Balm was mentioned in an Instagram post by Kim Kardashian and Joanna Czech, the celebrity US facialist, has used the brand. Overseas, luxury stores like Fortnum & Mason in London and Luisa Via Roma in Florence were among the first Ipsum stockists and the brand is now available in stores in Germany, Switzerland, France and the US.
Ipsum has also been a star performer at the Best of The Green Edit Awards, with the brand’s Cleansing Oil Balm picking up the Editor’s Choice Award for Best Skincare Product, the People’s Choice Award for Lip Oil Balm and Best Wellness Product for Best Skin Body Oil Patchouli Rose in 2022. The Cleansing Oil Balm was tapped as Best Skincare Product in 2023.
In June, Ipsum’s new retail spa range debuted in Claridge’s in London, one of the world’s leading luxury hotels, at a media breakfast event, followed by conditioning body treatments using the new balm with Susie Prichard-Casey, one of the UK’s leading massage and wellness practitioners. Later this year, Ipsum SPA Body Balm Vetiver Citrus will be part of a new collaboration with Claridge’s. “I am so delighted to be entering the luxury spa world and to be recognised for the quality of Ipsum products”, says Hayward.
In another exciting development, Ipsum was selected by Rolls-Royce and Bentley UK to be included in their commemorative book – Strive for Perfection – which celebrates sustainable luxury and will be launched on October 6th at Grosvenor House, one of London’s benchmark 5 star hotels, says Hayward. “The book is to celebrate the unique quality, craftmanship and sustainability of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor vehicles – almost every vehicle ever made is still on the road – and to highlight other brands that have the same integrity. It’s a great honour. What more can I say? “
