Influencers, bloggers, drag queens and media turned out in their droves to celebrate the launch of Milk Makeup in Australia.
Launched in the US in February 2016, the paraben-free, vegan, and cruelty-free makeup brand was immediately a hit with Millennials.
The New York City-based cosmetics and skin care company was founded by husband and wife Mazdack Rassi and Zanna Roberts Rassi, a power fashion couple.
Before launching the makeup brand with his wife, Mazdack co-founded Milk Studios, a studio and talent agency that worked with the likes of Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen, Wu-Tang Clan and Kanye West.
Meanwhile, Zanna was previously busy in roles including Marie Claire’s fashion director at large and an E! News correspondent.
The two joined forces with creative director Georgie Greville and product developer Dianna Ruth to create the line-up of 85 skus, and the rest, as they say, is history,
The company’s products were initially distributed by Sephora US and in 2017, the company received an investment from Main Post Partners.
But Aussies had to wait until 2021 to experience the brand’s cult range of products including its Hydro Grip Primer, Vegan Milk Moisturizer, Lip + Cheek sticks, Melatonin Overnight Serum, Color Chalk, the KUSH Mascara infused with cannabis oil and more.
At the event, guests were able to try the products up close and personal and were shade matched to their foundation colour.
