Nominations for the SheaMoisture annual SheaChangemakers Campaign are now open.

Running until February 2, 2024, this campaign serves as a remarkable platform to recognise and celebrate the contributions of Melanin Rich and First Nations women who are making significant positive impacts in their communities.

The SheaChangemakers Campaign invites nominations for exceptional individuals who are champions of causes and catalysts for transformative change. SheaMoisture, through this initiative, aims to empower and amplify the voices of those dedicated to making a difference.

Erica Galea, Marketing Director of SheaMoisture Australia, emphasised the importance of spotlighting those driving positive change.

“SheaMoisture recognises the significance of amplifying the voices and stories of individuals contributing to the charity sector, providing essential services, offering education, launching and running businesses, or simply making a meaningful impact in their communities,” she said.

A distinguished judging panel, featuring Australian actress and singer Aisha Dee, who was recently named Lancôme ambassador for Australia and New Zealand, hairstylist Chrissy Zemura, and last year’s SheaChangemaker winner Taida Chigogora from the Chozen Foundation, will select the final 20 nominees. Subsequently, the public will have the opportunity to cast their votes for the finalists and crown the 2024 SheaChangemaker of the year.

Dee expressed her gratitude for being part of the judging panel.

“Seeing the incredible work, businesses, and causes that Melanin Rich and First Nations Women in our communities are dedicated to is always inspiring,” she said. “Can’t wait to discover amazing individuals and organisations, lend a hand to their endeavors, and, of course, celebrate their beautiful contributions to the community!”

The crowned SheaChangemaker of the Year 2024 will be awarded $10,000, while five finalists will receive $2,000 each to support their initiatives.

Chigogora, the 2023 Changemaker of the Year, said: “As a result of winning the Shea Changemaker grant last year, we were able to expand our farming project in Zimbabwe, which is currently providing nutritious and delicious meals to 100+ orphans every day. This is all thanks to Shea Moisture!”
