The Online Retailer Conference & Expo is set to make a grand return to the ICC Sydney, Darling Harbour on July 24 and 25, 2024. This year’s event promises an impressive lineup of speakers, exhibitors, and workshops.

Among the local beauty industry leaders set to speak are:

  • Christine Guerru, e-Commerce Acceleration Director from L’Oreal Australia
  • Nicola Clement, Chief Experience Officer at Adore Beauty
  • Alex Roslaniec, Co-Founder of Hey Bud Skincare
  • Briony Kennedy, Founder & Brand Director of Adorn Cosmetics

The event will also feature keynote speakers from internationally recognised names in the retail business, including:

  • Kai Li, VP International from REVOLVE
  • Sarah Lukins, GM Digital from Fisher & Paykel, New Zealand
Briony Kennedy, Founder and Brand Director of Adorn Cosmetics.

Briony Kennedy, Founder and Brand Director of Adorn Cosmetics, will discuss ‘The Power of Authentic Personalisation – Lessons Learned on the Importance of Deeply Understanding Your Customers’ Needs‘ on Thursday, July 25.

Speaking exclusively with Retail Beauty ahead of the conference, Briony reflected on her journey.

“Adorn Cosmetics was established online in 2008 to make a better connection between natural beauty products and the beauty of nature,” she said. “I wanted to develop a ‘guilt-free’ Australian-made brand that was both good for you and kinder to the planet.”

Her vision for Adorn Cosmetics has earned her recognition as a state finalist in Telstra’s Small Business Sustainability & Innovations category in 2024.

Her pioneering efforts in makeup refills since 2008, and skincare since 2011, have always focused on minimising environmental impact. “Adorn products have always been sold without ‘outer boxes’ or plastic seals – a bold move, but a much-needed change for a habitually wasteful industry,” she explained.

The core values of Adorn Cosmetics revolve around kindness. “Adorn is kind to people, the planet, and animals – all while being kind to the skin,” she said. The brand supports its claims with accreditations such as Australian Made & Owned, Cruelty-Free & Vegan, and Made Safe.

She is known for her candid sharing of insights from 20 years in business, branding, sustainability, marketing, and customer loyalty and engagement.

“Attendees are probably guaranteed a laugh as well,” she added.

The Online Retailer Conference & Expo will also feature discussions on AI automation, customer data optimisation, and B2B transformation.

Attendees will gain insights from case studies, panels from leading retailers, and networking events.

A dedicated B2B transformation track will also return, addressing digital technology and business transformation for B2B companies. Discussions will cover developing long-term roadmaps, enhancing operational efficiency, and improving customer experience for business resilience.

The free-to-attend expo will host over 140 exhibitors showcasing the latest e-commerce solutions. The event will culminate with the Australia Post Online Retail Industry Awards (ORIAS), celebrating excellence in multichannel and online retailing.

Tickets for the event are now available, with the Expo free (registration required) and ticketed events starting at $99+ GST for workshops, up to $1,499 for a 2-day conference pass.
