Lush staff once again star in brand's marketing campaign without being retouched or Photoshopped.

It is time to get ‘fairy excited’ because the iconic Lush Christmas range is back on shelves.

Brittany Gian, general manager retail at Lush Australia and New Zealand, said the launch of Snow Fairy was something that many “Lushies” around the world looked forward to.

“Snow Fairy is loved by an audience far more diverse than the teenage girl it was created by and for,” she said.

The Snow Fairy range was originally created for Claire Constantine, the then teenage daughter of two of the company’s co-founders, Mark Constantine and Liz Weir.

Claire is now 30 and the group retail director at Lush UK & Europe.

Brittany explained further the history of the company via Zoom to media.

“Lush was founded in the UK 25 years ago by a group of animal and environmental activists who didn’t want to leave their ethics at the door when they went to work in the morning,” she said.

“Our founders felt that to maintain the highest ethical standards, they’d have to do absolutely everything themselves. Still to his day we invent all our own products, we source all our own ingredient, manufacture them in any one of nine Lush kitchens around the world, including one in Sydney and one in Auckland, and we sell them in stores across 50 countries including 42 stores in Australia and New Zealand.”

Lush was founded by Liz Weir, Mark Constantine, Mo Constantine, Rowena Bird and Helen Ambrosen in 1995 in Poole, England, before making its way Down Under in 1997.

Brittany said everything in the store was for everyone.

“If you have skin, we have something to suit you,” she said.

“At the heart of our business is a strong culture of individuality and empowerment and one that has helped us create a diverse workforce. We believe in challenging the textbook beauty norms that are often prevalent in our industry. We believe featuring a number of our staff in our marketing without being retouched or Photoshopped is extremely important.”

The limited edition Snow Fairy range is now available in stores.
