Max Factor & Sally Hansen were the official makeup sponsors of Jonathan Simkhai’s debut at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia. And what an alluring collection it is! The California-based designer had Sydney on his mind…and it shows: “While designing this Pre-Spring 2020 collection, knowing I would be showing in Sydney, I kept visualising the remarkable Bondi Beach sunsets. The hour at twilight when the sun is just above the horizon. When its light passes through the sky for a greater distance, illuminating everything around while brightening the faces of those you’re with, the magic hour,” says Jonathan.
To coincide with Jonathan’s collection, Liz Kelsh, Max Factor Australia Makeup Artist, created a sun kissed glowing beauty look. “The theme of the show is golden hour, so I created a look that changed with the light at sunset. Jonathan’s collection has a lot of texture, so we ensured the makeup had texture too”, says Liz Kelsh. “We wanted the girls to look like they’ve just stepped off the beach – glowing but with emphasis on eyes, cheeks & lips”.
