Many multinationals such as Unilever, Henkel and South Korea’s LG Household & Health Care have significant beauty and personal care divisions. But they also earn billions from household cleaning and pharmaceutical products.
Retail Beauty recently reported on the biggest players in the US beauty and personal care companies and their European, Asian and South American counterparts also posted strong results for 2021.
Here are the top 15 pure play, international beauty and personal care companies.
- L’Oréal – Key brands include Lancôme, L’Oréal Paris, Maybelline New York and Garnier – US$38 billion
- Shiseido – Key brands include Shiseido, NARS, Drunk Elephant and Bare Escentuals – US$9.1 billion
- LVMH – Key brands and licenses include Benefit Cosmetics, Parfums Christian Dior, Guerlain and Make Up For Ever – US$7.8 billion for beauty and fragrances.
- Natura & Co – Key brands include Avon, The Body Shop, Aesop and Natura – US$7.4 billion
- Chanel – US$7.1 billion
- Beiersdorf – Key brands include Nivea, La Prairie and Eucerin – US$6.9 billion
- Amorepacific – Key brands include Sulwhasoo, Laneige and Innisfree – US$4.6 billion
- Puig – Key fragrance and beauty licenses include Paco Rabanne, Jean Paul Gaultier, Charlotte Tilbury and L’Artisan Parfumeur – US$3 billion
- Kose – Key brands include Decorte, Tarte, Infinity and Awake – US$2.7 billion
- Yves Rocher – French skincare stalwart sold in more than 88 countries – US$2.2 billion
- L’Occitane – Key brands include L’Occitane en Provence and Elemis -US$2 billion
- Wella – US$2 billion
- Clarins – US$1.9 billion
- Pola Orbis – Key brands include Jurlique, Pola, Orbis and H20 Plus – US$1.5 billion
- Pierre Fabre – Key brands include Eau Thermale Avène, Klorane and Galenic – US$1.4 billion
