Despite e-commerce’s huge growth over the past few years, new research from Vicinity Centres has revealed that the majority of Australians (62%) still prefer to shop in-person over shopping online.

Consumers appear to be experiencing digital shopping fatigue with many of them missing the practical and ‘try before you buy’ aspects. Consumers also looked for the mental health benefits that retail therapy can provide, with nearly half of Aussies (46%) citing shopping as one of their favourite wellness activities.

As consumers look for ways to improve their wellness, Vicinity Centres has transformed three of its iconic CBD shopping centres to reinvent the idea of ‘retail therapy’.

Created in consultation with sensory therapy experts and positive psychologist Dr Tim Sharp, aka Dr Happy, three unique and interactive activations based on fractal therapy, sound therapy and chromotherapy will be on offer at The QVB, The Strand Arcade and The Galeries

The QVB Fractal Therapy experience includes kaleidoscopic animation that will fill the entire centre void of the QVB,  The Galeries Chromotherapy light show features a light-soaked tunnel and coloured maze targeting specific emotions  while the Strand Arcade Sound Therapy installation is a  nine metre-long soundscape installation, suspended from the roof that floats over shoppers with exclusive sound therapy tracks to inspire, calm, focus, and more.
