Weleda has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility by completing its B Corp recertification, achieving a notable score increase of 13% to reach 120.66 points. This new score surpasses Weleda’s initial B Corp certification score of 106.8 in 2021 and exceeds the Swiss B Corp company average of 95 points, reflecting Weleda’s growing leadership as a sustainability pioneer.

Weleda’s CEO, Tina Müller, expressed pride in the company’s achievements: “This recertification and the strong result we have achieved confirm we are on the right path. Weleda stands for growth with responsibility – growth in harmony with people and nature. We aim to make an impact and contribute to a healthy future worth living, and we are constantly improving in this respect.”

Weleda initially achieved B Corp status in 2021, its 100th anniversary year, joining a global network of approximately 9,000 companies that meet stringent standards in social responsibility, environmental stewardship, transparency, and corporate governance. B Lab, an international non-profit, awards this certification based on performance across five categories: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.

“Sustainability is a cornerstone of our business model; we are a B Corp by conviction,” says Müller. “

Weleda’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Nadine-Hélène Santiago, emphasised the company’s dedication to continual improvement. “Sustainability is an ongoing process that requires hard work. Today, we are focused not only on protecting resources but on actively strengthening them. Regenerative practices shape our entire value chain at Weleda,” she said.

Currently, 81% of Weleda’s plant-based raw materials are organically sourced. From cultivation to production and logistics, the company integrates sustainable practices at every stage. A prime example is the new Weleda Cradle Campus, a state-of-the-art, emissions-free logistics center that opened in Schwäbisch Gmünd in September 2024.

Built using rammed earth and wood, this facility supports the circular economy and promotes biodiversity in its surrounding outdoor spaces, setting a benchmark in sustainable logistics across Europe.

Weleda plans to continue setting increasingly ambitious sustainability targets, further driving growth through responsibility and stewardship of the planet. This recertification, awarded by B Lab, remains valid for three years.
