The beauty and personal care industry in China faced significant disruptions in 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and associated restrictions, causing a decline in consumer spending on beauty products.

Australia is known for its cultural diversity, and the Chinese community plays a significant role in shaping this diversity.
The Chinese-Australian business community is growing, and understanding Chinese customs and etiquette is vital for successful business relationships.
Chinese traditions, such as Chinese New Year celebrations, Dragon Boat festivals, and the Mid-Autumn Festival, have become integral parts of the Australian cultural calendar.
Mooncakes, deeply rooted in Chinese culture for over a thousand years, are cherished for their round shape, symbolising tradition and continuity.
This circular form holds significance in Chinese culture, representing unity, togetherness, and family reunion, notably during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, when the moon is at its fullest and brightest, signifying prosperity, happiness, and reunion.
To commemorate this occasion, Polaris Media Group organised an exclusive Mooncake Masterclass and networking event at Luna Lu, attended by more than fifty brand managers from the luxury, fashion, and beauty industries.
During the event, Polaris Media Strategy Director Rihanna Duan shared insights into the historical significance and symbolism of Chinese mooncakes, emphasising their cultural importance.
Jessica Yue, Founder of Polaris Media Group, also spoke about the importance of acquainting Australian guests with Chinese tradition.
Polaris Media Group manages Polaris Talent and maintains the largest database of Chinese influencers, commonly referred to as KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) and KOCs (Key Opinion Customers), in Australia.
Attendees engaged in a mooncake-making session led by Dulcet’s founder, Vivienne Li, creating mooncakes that were visually enticing and delicious.
