Trinny London has launched its latest breakthrough in skin longevity and biohacking: Take Back Time Eye Treatment. Designed to rejuvenate and protect the delicate eye area, this advanced treatment features miniprotein technology from Trinny London Labs, aimed at renewing and lifting the skin around the eyes. CEO and Founder Trinny Woodall, previously unconvinced by eye creams, shared her enthusiasm and insights with Retail Beauty on why this product has changed her perspective.
“As much as I said I would never use an eye cream, but secretly I wanted to do one. I’ve just never found the ingredients until we discovered some longevity research into miniproteins and their effect on slowing down the ageing process. It’s the perfect ingredient to build our formulation for Take Back Time,” said Woodall, shedding light on what inspired the product’s development.
Woodall emphasised the challenges that come with formulating an effective eye cream. “It’s very challenging when you make an eye cream to deal with conflicting issues, i.e. eye bags and dark circles, because one requires something to reduce inflammation and the other requires something to thicken the skin. They are in conflict. Crow’s feet is easier, but the crow’s feet that a lot of people put ingredients in that just make your skin feel soft.”
The product’s star ingredient, miniproteins, forms the heart of Take Back Time’s approach. “Mini proteins are a small mini protein, so they can penetrate the skin and relax the muscle and really help to slow the development of lines and also help in the reduction of existing lines. With the combinations we’ve also used of the proderma hyaluronic acid and the Hexapeptides and the mini proteins and the ashwagandha, we’re managing to deal with these three main issues without compromising any element of the formulation. Also, very excitingly for us, we’ve got some clinical trial results on lifting saggy eyelids with these mini proteins. We’re very excited after 57 iterations that we got that. We’re managing to tackle four different issues.”
The eye area is known to age more quickly, and Take Back Time is formulated to address this at the cellular level. “What show signs of ageing are when your skin feels thinner and crepier around the eye area. Having ingredients like a proderma hyaluronic acid is going hydrate the area. Having ingredients that reduce dark circles, the Hexapeptide Nashoganda, is going to stop that appearance of thinner skin because thinner skin shows the dark circle. It literally is your I’ve seen the blood vessels underneath and it looks grey, but it is that. And sagging eyelid is a lack of elasticity that comes with age. So the mini proteins are going to help to regenerate that area. So you just feel that you’re slowing down the ageing process of your eyes, eye area. Perfect.”
