Antoine Arnault, the son of Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of LVMH, knows a good investment when he sees one. Together with his wife, supermodel Natalia Vodianova, he has joined in a US$25 million strategic funding round for Augustinus Bader, the luxury skincare and haircare brand.

This latest fund-raising round also includes heavyweight investor Impala and values Augustinus Bader at US$1 billion.

Launched in 2018, by Professor Augustinus Bader, one of the world’s leading experts in regenerative medicine, and current CEO, Charles Rosier, the brand boasts a legion of celebrity devotees, including Jennifer Aniston, Victoria Beckham, Dakota Johnson and Kim Kardashian.

Earlier this year, the company appointed another loyal fan – Bobbi Brown, the legendary makeup artist – as its Chief Creative Director.

This latest financial thumbs-up elevates Augustinus Bader to “unicorn” status. Since its inception, hero products such as The Rich Cream and The Cream have scooped up more than 100 global beauty awards.

The brand’s worldwide sales are expected to reach US$200 million by the end of the year. The latest money injection will be earmarked for further international growth, particularly in China, key Asia/Pacific markets and travel retail.

In March, the brand launched the Ultimate Soothing Cream, a more nourishing version of The Rich Cream. In its first year on the market, global sales are expected to reach US$20 million.
