The global shampoo bar market size was valued at USD $11 million in 2019 and is expected to reach us$18.6 million by 2026, according to global market research company Dataintelo.
Rising awareness regarding health, hygiene, and harmful side effects associated with the long-term use of chemical cosmetics and personal care products are propelling the demand for shampoo bar with zero plastic waste, reports Grand View Research.
The Australian launch of the Davines Essentials Solid Shampoo collection was held over lunch at Chiswick, Woollahra.
Unlike traditional soaps that have a high pH and do not contain conditioning agents, the technology behind the formulas of Essential Haircare solid shampoos utilises a mixture of delicate surfactants with a skin-like pH, for a very gentle but effective cleansing action that can provide compactness and brightness to the hair fibre.
Giving value to the goodness of every single formula, enriching it with active ingredients from Slow Food Presidia farms in Italy help protect the planet’s biodiversity. The formulas of Essential Haircare solid shampoos are free from sulphates and silicones and also contain high percentages of easily biodegradable ingredients, while combining performance and sustainability.
This range also introduced the concept of low-environmental-impact packaging, due to the smaller quantities of materials needed.
The new, solid form shampoos, wrapped in essential packaging made just of paper and fully recyclable, are available in Momo (hydration), Dede (gentle), Love (smoothing) and Volu (volume).
The CO₂ generated by the raw materials, production, packaging, transport, and final disposal of the solid shampoos is offset through the Ethio Trees reforestation project, supported by Davines.
The Ethio Trees project supports the regeneration of soil and forests in Ethiopia’s northern region of Tigray, in the Tembien Highlands, that are at risk of desertification.
The Essentials Solid Shampoo Collection retails for $49.95 each.
