The global market for active ingredients for cosmetics, estimated at US$3.5 billion ($5.15 billion) in 2022, is expected to witness significant growth, reaching a size of US$4.3 billion ($6.33 billion) by 2026, according to a market study published by Global Industry Analysts Inc.

The promising outlook of the market is compelling manufacturers to invest in research and development (R&D) initiatives, aiming to create new products with unique ingredients. This drive towards innovation is fuelling the expansion of the cosmetic active ingredients market.

As awareness about the harmful effects of synthetic chemicals increases, consumers are also seeking out safer, biodegradable options and a preference for natural alternatives as opposed to synthetic chemicals.

Dr Garry Cussell, the founder of Rejuvenation Clinics of Australia, believes that achieving beautiful skin at any age is attainable, regardless of one’s skin history.

With more than  45 years experience in the industry, the skin specialist has now launched a cutting-edge therapeutic skincare brand – Rejuvaus.

Unlike typical skincare products that often contain one or a limited number of active ingredients, Rejuvaus combined an unprecedented amount of active ingredients to create formulas that target multiple skin types and concerns, including anti-ageing, acne, and pigmentation.

Speaking exclusively with Retail Beauty at the Sydney Rejuvaus launch, Dr Cussell said the brand had  “an unwavering commitment to efficacy” and that he had “spared no expense in sourcing the finest ingredients, prioritising results over margins”.

Dr Cussell explained that what made Rejuvaus unique was its innovative i•Active formulas, which not only featured multiple actives in each product but were also free from synthetic additives and fillers known to irritate the skin and hinder results.

He said Rejuvaus harnessed the natural preservative properties of lemongrass, which collaborated harmoniously with encapsulated vitamins A, B, C, collagen peptides, hyaluronic acid, and other powerful actives.

“I truly believe achieving beautiful skin at any age is possible – regardless of one’s skin history,” he said.

“Through our premium product range, we are committed to helping individuals achieve professional-grade results safely and easily and I have seen extraordinary transformations which prove this is absolutely possible.”

The Rejuvaus product includes four face serums, one eye serum, three moisturisers, and two AHA cleansers.

“These formulations work at the cellular level, penetrating deeply to deliver radiant and rejuvenated skin,” Dr Cussell said.
