Bill and Imelda Roche were once the giants of the Australian beauty industry. The entrepreneurial couple established cosmetics direct seller, Nutrimetics Australia, in 1968 and acquired the global interests of Nutrimetics International in 1991.

The company was sold to the Sara Lee Corporation in 1997, boasting an annual turnover of $250 million. Eight years later, Tupperware Brands Corporation bought Sara Lee’s direct selling and beauty business for US$557 million to extend its footprint in Asia and South America.

New Zealand’s New Image Group, a leading wellness and nutritional product manufacturer and exporter, has acquired Nutrimetics from Tupperware for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1984, New Image Group has two subsidiaries – New Image International, which encompasses the global direct selling channel, and NIG Nutritionals, which is responsible for manufacturing and packaging in New Zealand for the parent company and other customers.

The acquisition includes Nutrimetics Australia, Nutrimetics International New Zealand, Nutrimetics Manufacturing and Nutrimetics France.

New Image Group is ranked #30 in the top 100 direct selling companies with consultants in Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and South Africa.

“Nutrimetics is such an iconic brand with a proud 54 year history that has seen generations of women and men benefit from its incredible skincare and income opportunity,” says Graeme Clegg, founder and chairman of New Image Group. “In the future, as part of New Image Group, it will be available to so many more people globally through our independent consultants.”
