Nailberry‘s story began in a prestige nail bar in London. In 2013, entrepreneur Sonia Hully launched the brand and its hero formula –L’Oxygéné – based on a patented breathable technology which keeps nails healthy and doesn’t compromise on colour, shine or longevity.

Nailberry’s “clean” nail polishes are vegan, cruelty-free and have a halal branding. In Australia, the brand’s products are available through lookfantastic.com.au and amazon.com.au.

Other export markets include France, Germany, the US, the Middle East, Singapore, Indonesia and Taiwan.

Silverwood Brands, a UK investment company focused on the food, organic food, wellness, lifestyle and leisure sectors, has acquired Nailberry for $10.4 million.

In 2021, Nailberry’s total revenues reached $3.5 million. The brand launched in Selfridges in 2015 and entered specialist UK beauty retailer, Space NK, in 2020.

Sonia Hully will remain with Nailberry as a director.

According to Andrew Gerrie, Executive Director of Silverwood Brands – “We are looking forward to working with Sonia and the team at Nailberry to build the brand. We are very optimistic about the future of the business.”

Julien Sprecher, the owner of niche fragrance brand Parfums de Marly, is on the hunt for a much higher price tag. Founded in 2009, the company is working with Jeffries Financial Group to flush out prospective buyers willing to bid up to US$495 million, say analysts.
