Close to 5,200 guests converged on the Gold Coast over the weekend for the Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference and Exhibition (APP2021).
The annual event is held by the Events Division – The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Queensland Branch.
Retail Beauty publisher Nicci Herrera and editor Michelle Ruzzene roamed the exhibition halls networking with pharmacy owners, pharmacy managers, pharmacists, intern pharmacists, retail managers, pharmacy assistants, students and pharmacy industry suppliers.
The conference again was jam packed with high quality education, world-renowned speakers, Continuing Professional Development activities, networking events and more than 400 trade stands.
Following a fun welcome reception on Thursday night in the sold-out trade exhibition, attendees were ready for a jam-packed Friday.
The day offered some fantastic educational opportunities, exciting product launches and new information.
There were plenty of beauty companies and brands on display at the expo, including EauThermale Avene & Klorane, G&M Cosmetics, Galderma Australia, Inspire Brands, Johnson & Johnson, Kao Australia, La Roche-Posay, McPhersons, Procter & Gamble and many more.
The Gold Coast put on its finest sunny autumn weather with a top of 22 degrees, which many enjoyed outside at the Women’s Networking Lunch.
Retail Beauty was sponsored the lunch and were honoured to be able to hand out an exciting goody bag to all attendees (see below).
On Saturday, former Australian Cricket Captain, Michael Clarke, shared his personal experiences on leading a team and how community pharmacy can use team leadership to reach business goals.
Guests then stretched out their sea legs at the evening’s ‘Nautical but Nice’ Street Party at The Star Gold Coast. Delegates were entertained by magician Mike Tyler, followed by an amazing set from Queen tribute band, KillerQueen, who had everyone on their feet dancing.
APP 2022 is scheduled to be held next year from March 24 – 27.
