You have to be in it to win it and retailing provides a hotbed of opportunities to play and win. With its French couture heritage Yves Saint Laurent Beauté has always played on the edge, drawing in a customer who loves to dare with the greatest of style. In a cheeky shopper-stopper move, the brand has created a Pop-Up store in Sydney’s QVB lasting only until the end of the month (Oct 30th 2019).
The YSL Beauty Pop-Up Beauty Station mimics a gas station selling…not petrol and snacks…but the brand’s newest and best-selling makeup essentials while also showcasing YSL Beauty’s latest Rouge Volupté Shine campaign starring Kaia Gerber.
Heading towards the space people will spot the bright pink gas pump located outside the station. Homing in on the Pop-Up they’ll see the decorative pink lipstick walls hero-ing Rouge Volupté Shine.
The gas pump includes an interactive augmented reality (AR) beauty app, YouCam Makeup. Customers can virtually try on different lippie shades, learn about products and shop through the app or in-store.
Playing with the products is the order of the day here and to further encourage this there’s an exclusive vending machine called Beautymatic which delivers a complimentary mini lipstick or mini fragrance.
OK, so where to find it? Located in Queen Victoria Building on the ground floor (next to shop 24) – YSL Beauty Station is open from 9am – 6pm with late night on Thursdays until 9pm, hanging up its pump at close of day on Oct 30th.
