In order to improve their store-based business, many retailers are modernising and refurbishing their brick-and-mortar stores, according to Deloitte.

In its report, Beauty Retail: A closer look at current trends impacting beauty specialist retailers, it states improvements in store concepts have the potential to retain customers’ attention and that beauty specialist retailers are also moving towards new store concepts that incorporate digital elements and try-on hotspots, to provide a contemporary shopping experience.

One beauty retailer leading the charge in modern beauty retail is Mecca, founded by Jo Horgan, which recently celebrated the re-opening of its Double Bay store in style.

The re-opening of the 160 square metre destination makes it Mecca’s 107th store in Australia and New Zealand, since opening its first store in Melbourne’s South Yarra with an expert edit of seven iconic global beauty brands back  1997.

Driving the future of beauty and experiential retailing, the store offers some of the world’s most coveted beauty finds, providing the local customer with the first opportunity to see, touch and feel the products that they already know and love in-store.

Extending the retail experience beyond product, Mecca Double Bay has an all-new dedicated perfumeria with an impressive line-up of cult fragrance favourites including Le Labo, Diptyque, Maison Francis Kurkdijian and Byredo.

In addition to the fragrance offering, customers now have access to six makeup service chairs, as well as a skin consultation and express skin area.

To celebrate the launch, media and influencers were invited to a candle pairing workshop with Parisian parfumerie Diptyque.

The store is located at 2-22 Knox St, Double Bay, NSW.
