The skincare brand Paula’s Choice has recently launched an innovative tool called the Beautypedia Skincare Ingredient Checker. This tool is designed to decode the ingredients in any skincare product and instantly analyse them based on scientific research, helping consumers cut through hype and make informed decisions about the products they use on their skin.

Paula’s Choice was founded by Paula Begoun, a skincare expert, author, and consumer advocate who has been involved in the beauty industry for over 30 years and who is also known as the “Cosmetics Cop”.

In 1995, Begoun launched her own skincare line, Paula’s Choice, which was based on a philosophy of using scientifically proven ingredients in effective formulations.

Paula’s Choice Director of Applied Research & Education, Desiree Stordahl, said the brand “has always been known for its research-based approach to skincare, and this new tool is in line with its commitment to providing consumers with accurate and trustworthy information”.

“The Beautypedia Skincare Ingredient Checker is a valuable resource for anyone who wants to better understand the ingredients in their skincare products,” she said.

The Beautypedia Skincare Ingredient Checker is powered by Paula’s Choice’s Ingredient Dictionary, which has been a go-to resource for knowledgeable consumers, dermatologists, journalists, and cosmetic chemists since its launch in 2002.

“Paula’s Choice Research & Education Team and Science Advisory Board have over two decades of experience in the science of skin care, and continually re-evaluate the research to ensure our analysis is accurate and ahead of the curve, based on the latest studies,” Desiree said.

It’s essential to keep in mind, however, that skincare is a highly individualised field, and what works for one person may not work for another.

While the Beautypedia Skincare Ingredient Checker can provide helpful information about the ingredients in a product, it’s still important for consumers to consider their own skin concerns and preferences when selecting skincare products.
