Retail Beauty recently reported there was one free exhibitor space up for grabs at The Green Edit.

Skincare brand Pythia was announced as the lucky winner.

Pythia founder and self-confessed witch Lauren Nolan said the event had been on her vision board, but financially she was struggling to find the funds to exhibit.

“Being a part of The Green Edit community is quite literally a dream come true for me,” she said.

“The event was on my vision board, I felt so sure I was going to be there but financially things shifted for me last year and I knew I couldn’t manage it. Then when I saw this opportunity it felt like I was getting another shot to bring it into my reality.”

Lauren launched the brand in May 2021, right in the thick of the Covid-19 pandemic, which she said “felt like the right time despite the obvious setbacks of lockdowns and difficult financial situations”.

“It was like a week or two after I launched that we went into a big lockdown. I had big plans to do Bondi Markets and pitch to retailers but that all changed. Instead, I threw everything I had into building an online community and we were getting amazing support and feedback from the very beginning. Starting out during a time when I often couldn’t find my footing reminded me to hold everything loosely.”

Lauren didn’t let the lockdown interfere with her grander plans and sticking to her values saw her business thrive regardless.

“I’ve always been a ‘maker’ and I’ve always considered myself to be a witch. Working with what nature gives us is such a fundamental part of how I live. I had been creating my own skincare potions for some time when I felt called to create our first line of products, the Zodiac Miracle Oils. This felt bigger than just what I make for myself and my family, and I knew it was a path that I had to follow.”

Lauren said she believes “many of us transformed what self-care meant during lockdowns”  and she wanted Pythia to “elevate and expand our customers from the inside out during this time when everything outside of ourselves was uncertain.”

The Green Edit will be held on March 10 at Terrace on the Domain.
