Retail Beauty has previously reported on L’Occitane’s outstanding financial results, especially after acquiring British prestige skincare brand Elemis, the Brazilian-inspired US beauty brand Sol de Janeiro and more recently, Australian natural skincare brand Grown Alchemist.
Pierre-Emmanuel Joffre, Managing Director L’Occitane Australia, spoke to media at a L’Occitane Precious event, which was held to celebrate the launch of the new Enriched Emulsion.
Joffre spoke about the acquisitions, before turning his attention to sustainability.
“Since we created L’Occitane, it’s in our DNA to work on or to support sustainability,” he said.
“And sustainability is not only about nature, but also about people. So, some of you may not know but all our products since the last century have Braille on it because we are deeply committed to inclusion. So here locally, we’ve been working also on a commitment to support what is the brand doing internationally, because we want to act here locally, and for the last two years we have supported The Fred Hollows Foundation. We want to help restore sight in Australia and close the gap in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health.”
Joffre then went on to talk about biodiversity, and said through its partnership with Australia’s National Parks, the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife (FNPW), L’Occitane Australia had contributed $228,000 as part of an initial two-year commitment to help regenerate Australia post 2019-2020 bushfires.
“We have committed to the goal of planting one million trees over five years,” he said.
L’Occitane Australia Marketing Director Pam Wilson then said to extend the skin-strengthening collection, the brand had launched its new Immortelle Precious Enriched Emulsion, featuring the “Immortelle antioxidant superbomb”.
“It’s fast absorbing and lightweight milky texture is perfect for combination and oily skin, delivering hydration and moisture without feeling heavy,” she said.
“The indulgent emulsion incorporates a high concentration of lentil extract for pore tightening and, aides the process of buffing away rough skin texture, with micro-hyaluronic acid to assist in plumping the skin. This skin super booster is the perfect step in prepping skin before applying makeup for a seamless, flawless base.”
