Retail Beauty recently reported that ingredients such as ceramides, or those that assist barrier repair function,  will pick up steam in 2022.

Ceramides are a class of fatty acids called lipids that are naturally found in skin cells.

They are said to constitute about 50 per cent of the outer layer of the skin, or the epidermis.

These fatty acids are lost over time which can result in dull, dry skin, which is why anti-ageine skincare products can often contain ceramide.

Famous for its Ceramide franchise launched in 1990, Elizabeth Arden forever changed the skincare industry with the introduction of Ceramide Capsules – the first-of-its-kind, bio-engineered, skin-identical ceramides available in a single-dose capsule format.

The brand relaunched its Advanced Ceramide Lift & Firm Creams in 2021, which was a reformulation of the original Lift & Firm Creams but with five times the ceramide power to replenish and restore skin.

The SPF 15 Day Cream SKU is the newest launch, which hit shelves on Sunday, March 27.

Key ingredients in the products include:

  • Ceramides to strengthen skin’s barrier to nourish, firm and protect against moisture loss.
  • Tetrapeptides to  smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and help restore skin firmness.
  • Edelweiss extract to help enhance facial contours and tighten sagging skin for a more sculpted look.
  • Vitamin e, a nourishing antioxidant that provides protection from environmental aggressors and free radicals.
  • Red algae to supports the skin’s natural ceramide and replenishes lost moisture to increase hydration.

The new creams are sustainably packaged with a portion of the glass jar and cap coming from post-consumer recycled packaging.

To celebrate the Lift & Firm launch, Elizabeth Arden held a 30-minute boxing class at Shelter, followed by a light breakfast.
