It’s evident that the way Aussies are shopping online has changed over the past two years, with newly formed habits firmly concreting themselves, according to Australia Post.

In its 2022 Inside Australian Online Shopping Report, it states 9.2 million Aussie households shopped online and spend a massive $62.3 billion last year.

Australia Post also predicts that 41 per cent of Christmas shoppers intend to begin their Christmas shopping in November.

So, what does this mean for e-commerce retailers?

An e-commerce business’s top priority after a sale is to get the products to the customer as soon as possible and to keep them up to date as soon as they are en route.

Launched in early 2022 by co-founders Iantha Yu and Henry Weaver, Dashboard by eCommerce Shipping is a shipping and inventory management software that can be plugged into an e-commerce store via Shopify and WooCommerce (among others) to assist a retailer in picking and packing its customers’ orders as quickly as possible, while also finding the cheapest shipping option suitable.

“After consulting with fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands over the last few years, I’ve noticed that the one thing that usually slows businesses down is logistics,” Iantha said. “Logistics in Australia is difficult to navigate and extremely expensive for start-up brands, so we needed a better solution.”

Iantha, also the founder of PicStudio, a boutique creative agency that specialises in strategy, branding and visual storytelling for brands such as Woolworths Beauty, Officeworks, Samsung, Skin Physics, Boost Lab and more said Dashboard by eCommerce Shipping provided specially negotiated and heavily discounted shipping rates with Australia Post, Sendle, MailPlus, and Zoom2u.

“We provide brands with a wide range of shipping rates, options, and terms to maximise profits and customer satisfaction,” she said.

“The procedure is straightforward: after installing the plugin on Shopify, data is transferred to the dashboard where you can view information such as stock levels, delivery methods, and shipping rates in one place. This platform also allows you to print shipping labels and access tracking numbers.”

In addition to accessing cheaper shipping rates, the software offers other benefits including stock management, order processing and returns.

Henry, also the CEO of Australian Private Label, a private-label skincare company that manufactures products for some of Australia’s most well-known brands, said retailers needed to they could handle the increased e-commerce demand.

“I’ve come across lots of brands who have a great product as well as purchasing customers,” he said.

“However, their logistics and stock management systems would let the business down.”
