Global fragrance sales soared after the Covid-19 pandemic and Inter Parfums has been a major beneficiary as women all over the world have upped their spend on perfumes and fragrance. Last year, the company enjoyed its “best year ever” with full year sales of US$1.08 billion – up 24 per cent on 2021 sales of US$880 million.

The company has announced it has secured the exclusive worldwide fragrance license for Roberto Cavalli, the luxury Italian lifestyle and fashion brand founded by its eponymous namesake in 1970. Inter Parfums Italia, the company’s subsidiary based in Florence, will oversee the Roberto Cavalli business and continue to develop the brand as part of its Italian brand hub, created after the company took over the Ferragamo fragrance license in 2021.

Robert Cavalli’s first fragrance – Roberto Cavalli for Women – was launched in 2002. The brand also has the Just Cavalli line which appeals to younger demographics, which will also be further developed by Inter Parfums, and prestige men’s fragrances.  One of the highlights of the brand’s fragrance portfolio is the Roberto Cavalli Gold Collection of six ultra-premium unisex perfumes. Roberto Cavalli fragrances have been under Coty‘s umbrella since 2011.

Hussain Sajwani, founder and chairman of Damac Properties based in Dubai, acquired the Roberto Cavalli label through his private investment company, Vision Investments, in 2019. Roberto Cavalli fragrances are distributed worldwide and are notably popular in Europe, the US and the Middle East.

Jean Madar, chairman and CEO of Inter Parfums commented: “We are enthusiastic about the potential of our partnership with Cavalli and its creative director, Fausto Puglisi. We will modernise and elevate the fragrance portfolio, build out a powerful global brand presence along with a robust omni-channel reach, strengthening visibility and improve shelf space. Our current plans call for brand extensions in 2024 and a new blockbuster scent for women in 2025″.

Inter Parfums extensive portfolio of lifestyle and prestige brands includes Coach, Jimmy Choo, Montblanc, Karl Lagerfeld, MCM, Ferragamo, Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karan and DKNY.
